Inter-School Quiz and Debate in Celebration of the International Day of the African Child 2025
On June 14, 2025, the African Scholars Care Initiative (ASCI) proudly organized an impactful Inter-School Quiz and Debate Competition at Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, to commemorate the International Day of the African Child. The event was themed “Light Up The Future!!!”, echoing the importance of planning and budgeting for children’s rights and recognizing the progress made since 2010.
The competition served as a platform for young students to express their ideas, intellect, and aspirations, while addressing crucial social topics affecting African children today.

Their presence underscored the relevance of the occasion and reaffirmed their support for youth education and development in Africa.

Out of several passionate and talented schools that participated, the winners of the 2025 Inter-School Quiz and Debate Competition were:
🥇 1st Place: JSS Tundu Wada
🥈 2nd Place: JSS Jikwoyi
🥉 3rd Place: JSS Zone 1
🏅 4th Place: JSS Area 10
Each school was awarded certificates, trophies, and educational materials in recognition of their efforts and outstanding performance.
This event not only celebrated the talents of African children but also served as a strong call for increased investment in child-centered policies and initiatives. The International Day of the African Child is a moment to reflect on our collective responsibilities toward the education, empowerment, and protection of Africa’s next generation.
